The Walking Dead is based on the comic book series written by Kirkman, who also serves as an executive producer with three-time Oscar nominee Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile).

Years after a zombie apocalypse, a group of survivors struggle to find a safe, secure home in the world that’s overrun by the undead. Rick Grimes (Lincoln) and his wife Lori (Callies) flee with son Carl (Chandler Riggs) during the event to presumed safety in Atlanta. As they join a group of survivors on the outskirts of the city, the characters are changed by the constant exposure to death and some grow willing to do anything to survive.
